I can enroll my child in your classes any time during the year. When is the best time for my child to start?

We run our program year-round, so your child will have varied, challenging, and fun lessons throughout the year.
With that in mind, our coaches are trained to facilitate a lesson that works students together on skills they can all handle. Then, coaches work one-on-one with students on the skills they are explicitly developing.
Your child can start anytime and have an excellent T&T sports experience, feeling included, challenged, and successful.
Participating will give your child the most well-rounded experience, building more strength, developing more flexibility, and learning more skills.

I see you run a year-round program of classes. Am I committed to the full year? What if my schedule changes?

If your schedule changes throughout the year, you can request to transfer your child into any open class at the same skill level through the front office. Since classes can remain full most of the year, we recommend getting on waiting lists a couple of months ahead of time.
We run a year-round program. Tuition is billed monthly; you can drop off a class during the year. If you wish to drop your child starting the next month, you must notify us by the 15th of the month. For example, if you want to discontinue classes beginning in December, you must notify us in writing by November 15th. If you do not drop, your child’s enrollment will continue perpetually, as will billing until further notice.

My child is 3 years old and I want to enroll them at a Preschool Tumbling class. Are there any restrictions before enrollment.

You may enroll your child if they are potty trained and can spend some time without you during class. Only your child is allowed in the gym and to stay on-site. You are required to remain on-site.

My child is very talented for their age. When can they move up?

The coaches at Motor City Gymnastics evaluate the athletes regularly. After the evaluation, the coach will contact you to review and discuss the next steps.
We encourage you to maintain an open line of communication with your child's coach for any upcoming questions. This will keep you involved and informed about your child's progress.

My child loves to jump on the trampoline in our backyard. I'm wondering if I should enroll my child in Rec T&T technique or beginner. Which class is best for my child?

From a safety perspective, we recommend starting with a technique class to learn the basics of jumps, like a straight jump, straddle jump, and pike jump. Your child will perform them on an Olympic-sized trampoline and a double mini-trampoline. After the coach evaluates your child, your child can move up to the next level.

Your rules say jumping on a trampoline starts at age 6+. Why can my 5-year-old child not jump on a trampoline like it is doing in our backyard or a trampoline park?

Safety is our highest priority! So, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics, no child under six should use a trampoline.

Do I have to stay on-site during my child’s class?

The rules for parents/guardians entering the facility will follow:
- Children Ages 5 and younger (preschool tumbling): A parent/guardian is required to be on-site

- Children Ages 6 and older (recreational, pre-team, and team program):
Parent/guardian on-site is optional.
We understand that your time is valuable. All children must be picked up from class from inside the facility.
If you are not required to be on-site and will not be remaining on site for the class, please arrive back at the facility 5 minutes before class ends to come inside in preparation for class dismissal.

During classes, those onsite will stay in the open waiting space. In the waiting area, there is a snack bar and a water station. There is also a kids' corner with a coloring table and books. Additionally, in the teen areas, there are bean bags for hanging out.
